On Deck & Cargo Space

MARTEK provides assistance for repairs of all Deck Machinery as well as undertakes Tank up-gradation, Hydro-Blasting and Coatings for Deck and Tank surfaces including DBs.

We execute following repairs and maintenance projects:-
♦ Manufacturing and installation of Windlass Gearwheel and Pinion, we can cast up to 8 ton weight and up to 5 Mtrs. Dia.
♦ Crane repairs, renewal of crane bearing.

Graduated from “Directorate of Marine Engineering Training” (DMET) in the year 1961. Served in various ranks onboard the ships owned by M/s The Great Eastern Shipping Co.Ltd; Mumbai between 1961-70. The last rank served onboard the ship was that of a Chief Engineer. In 1971 started marine related shore-based service industry MARTEK ENGINEERING WORKS to deal with shipboard repairs, maintenance and retrofits by engaging Flying Squad. Pioneer in starting ship management concept in India during the year 1974-75 under the name MARINE MANAGEMENT SERVICES PVT.LTD. This company deals in the personnel manning of ships for overseas clientele. In 1998 set up a sizable shipyard at Goa (on the west coast of India) under the name MARMAN ENGINEERING AND SHIP BUILDING PVT.LTD. to cater the need of coastal trade requirement with vessels ranging between 1000 D.W.T. to 3500 DWT capacity.

Who we are?

It was in 1971, that a modest beginning was made by us with a workforce of just four persons. We then offered specialized marine services like turbocharger overhauling, engine parameter settings and tuning. Impressed by the quality of our service, Ship owners loaded us with more intricate jobs. We grew in strength and successfully tackled various shipboard maintenance programme. We had won the confidence of Ship owners and an essential milestone had been reached. Today MARTEK has a pool of around 200 skilled marine technicians specially trained in various trade practices forming part of our Flying Squads Services. All technicians have undergone basic STCW certification and possess Seaman’s Book. Our in-house travel desk ensures timely boarding of technical crew at desired Ports.

About us

By Now the expectations of the Ship owners/ Managers, the world over had increased and they looked upon us to meet their entire requirements. In their eyes we were no longer mere marine repairers, but first rate result oriented trouble shooters. Some of them appointed us as their technical managers and the services we rendered were not only technical in nature, since, we also worked as Consultants for their manpower requirements too.
We shouldered this responsibility ably and once again proved that we had achieved, in practice, total dependability to fully shoulder Owners/Technical Managers on-board problems.
